Campers are required to use our Mishawaka Meds program
Camp Mishawaka has partnered with a local pharmacy to ensure all medications are administered safely and effectively for all campers while at camp.
All daily medications, prescription and over-the-counter, vitamins and supplements, should be listed on the camper’s health form in the family’s CampInTouch account with clear dosing instructions.
1-2 months prior to the session start date, your child’s doctor will need to send a new prescription for all of these daily medications, including OTC for 30-60 days (depending on length of camp session) to:
Thrifty White Pharmacy Store 728 1105 S Pokegama Ave, Grand Rapids, MN 55744. Phone: (218) 326-9431
Provide your child’s physician with the full name, store number and address of the pharmacy to be sure it is routed correctly.
All costs incurred will be added to your child’s CampInTouch account and billed using the default billing account.
*International campers should send prescription medications and OTC medications in the original packaging with clear dosing instructions.
Daily medications will be packed at Thrifty White Pharmacy by licensed pharmicists in these convenient blister packs, including dosage and time-of-day to administer the medication.
All meds should be listed on the camper’s health form in your CampInTouch/Campanion account.
Prescriptions should be written for 30 days (or 60 days for campers in 6 and 8 week sessions).
If the Rx is written as “once a day” with no specific time, the medicine will be given at breakfast.
Thrifty White is able to bill most insurance plans. You will be responsible to pay the copay, deductible or full amount if not covered by your insurance.
Leftover medication will be sent home with the camper after their session.
Short-term antibiotics prescribed in the weeks prior to camp may be sent to camp in the original packaging with your camper.
