Campers choose their own activities and may wish to concentrate their efforts in two or three areas, or sample a wide variety. We like to boast about our 30 different traditional summer camp land and water activities — explore them for yourself!

Activities you can do at Camp Mishawaka
Being on the beautiful shores of Lake Pokegama allows us to offer a whole gamut of watersports. On land, activities range from horseback riding, to tennis, to gymnastics. You’ll never run short of fun things to do while you are here. We have 2 newspapers that we publish throughout the summer. Why not sharpen your sleuthing, photography and writing skills, and sign up to help with the publishing of The Totem or The Teepee? We also offer pottery and have a wood shop, along with lots of arts and crafts projects. Make your parents a gift to thank them for letting you come to camp, or make yourself a memento to remind yourself of all the fun had at summer camp.

And don’t forget about the lake!
We have a large fleet of all kinds of boats, making it easy to enjoy all that expansive Lake Pokegama has to offer – sailboats, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and canoes abound. We even have 2 Ski-Nautique ski boats just for our waterskiing program. Don’t worry if you’ve never waterskied before, or are feeling a little rusty – we have wonderful instructors for that as well. From beginners to advanced, we’ll get your waterskiing skills honed up in no time! We have pontoon boats and other motor boats to troll around the lake, wet a line and maybe catch a big northern pike. No summer camp would be complete without swimming and campers love our aqua log, log-rolling and water mat. On cooler days, warm up in our sauna and jump in the lake like a true Finlander!
Special Days
We also have “special day” activities for kids at Camp Mishawaka. We get a little creative throughout the summer to make fun activities for kids at summer camp. Watch out for spontaneous nerd nights and other fun dress up activities that make Camp Mishawaka all the more fun and special.
