What: A chance to experience the magic of Camp Mishawaka as a family!

Where: On the shores of Lake Pokegama

When: August 12 – August 18, 2012 – three day minimum.

For more than 40 years Mishawaka Family Camp has been a summer staple, providing families an opportunity to experience the joys of summer camp – together! Whether you want to fish, sail, play tennis, or just take a nap away from phones and email, Family Camp is for you. Activities are designed for all members of the family, and the programming offers a nice mix of activities, social time, and family time. If you miss your camp days, or just want to discover what Mishawaka campers experience in the summer, then Family Camp is calling. In addition to regular camp activities, special family camp events include Island Day, The Critter Race, Mississippi River Canoe Trip, and Happy-Hour!Families are housed in camper cabins complete with plumbing and electricity. A rustic but comfortable experience for all! Three meals are served daily, and the week includes several barbeques. Days typically end with a sunset sauna and campfire, complete with s’mores and song!

Who comes to Family Camp?

Families who are looking for a unique family vacation. Many families have current campers at Mishawaka, while others are former campers who want to introduce Camp Mishawaka to their young children. We have many regulars, but each year we welcome new Mishawaka families who are anxious to enjoy all that a summer camp experience can provide.

What do we need to bring?

Bring comfortable clothes, a swim suit and towel! Camp Mishawaka supplies bedding and everything else, including sports equipment and life jackets.

Do we have to stay for the entire week?

Family camp is designed to be a week-long experience but we are flexible. We do insist on a 3 day minimum.

What’s on the menu?

We serve three full meals a day. They are typical camp meals served family style. We also have a full salad bar available for lunch and dinner. Snacks and drinks available in the dining hall all day as well as hors d’oeuvres during our daily happy hour. During the week, we will also have at least one barbeque cookout with burgers, hotdogs, veggies, chicken, etc. We are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs.

Can we bring our pets?

Please leave your dog and other animals at home. There are a number of area kennels if you need to make arrangements to board your dog.

*A $100 deposit is required upon registration. It is fully refundable until August 1st, after which it is forfeited.

Rates apply to first 3 children, no charge for additional children as part of same family. Family Camp rates include all meals, lodging and on-site activities. A 10% discount will be applied to all Family Campers staying six days or longer. Rates do not include 6.5% sales tax, excursions or side-trips, clothing purchases, or greens fees. Balance due upon check-out.
